What a blast to the past post for me.
I know it wasn’t the first console I have played, but it was something special. Before it got replaced by the Game Boy Color…but abandonment issues aside, I wanted to show you that there’s still some hope in clinging to the past.
Some things are worth remembering, after all.
While some of those worthy memories belong to the games themselves, those games wouldn’t have been played or probably even made without the concept of the Game Boy. So let’s all reminisce by examining the top 5 Game Boy gifts for the retro gamers of the past, present, and even future.
Some of these items (and many others!) might have some good sales going on, due to Amazon’s Prime Day (July 15 and 16). However, if you’re not a Prime member, you might be missing out. If that’s the case, I highly recommend trying the 30-day free trial.

Look at that sexy picture.
Of the Game Boy wallet, of course.
I wanted to take a picture of myself holding this picture so you can see proof of my love for this wallet. The one I’d had for years was falling apart and crumbling and kind of putting gunk on some of my cards. So I went on Amazon and decided to look for wallets that didn’t look boring.
After searching specific gamer terms, I came upon this bad boy and I just had to have it. It looked amazing and the nostalgia was real. I knew if I pulled out my wallet to pay for something the retro gamers would immediately notice.
And I wasn’t wrong. I’ve been complemented quite a lot on it.
Which makes this my #1 choice for Game Boy gifts.
I don’t really like perusing shirts and pants and hats and other such clothing, because there are so many types and people are never a one-size-fits-all. I’m not talking about actual size, but more like how something looks.
For example, there are a lot of shirt. V-necks, mens, womens, tanktops, hoodies, sweaters, etc. I never really know what to choose, but I guess I’m just leading the way for you to decide.
Anyway, I like this Game Boy shirt because a lot of times, people can’t see everything on a shirt due to wrinkles and folds that your body and posture create. But with this design, it’s all centralized. People should see the full shirt without having to squint, lean, stare at it too long. They’ll know what it’s talking about.
Unless…they’re not a gamer. Then they just won’t understand.
Due to them coming in both male and female, I added both below!
I’ve got a huge collection of notebooks and notepads, due to writing a lot way back when. Now, I still write a lot, but it’s mainly ideas on what I’m going to do for this site and how I’m going to help you as a gamer.
If I’m casually playing a video game, I’ll sometimes have a notebook in front of me so I can take notes as I play, in order to write a proper review. Let’s face it, my memory is crap, and if I can’t recall things, then something visual is in order.
Which leads me to the Game Boy notebook.
It’s got a “screenshot” type of ordeal with an old-school Mario game, I believe. I don’t think I played Mario on the Game Boy, so I don’t really know how it’d look. Not too much of a fan of the green, but the nostalgia still holds up, and if you need something to write random stuff in while holding onto a memory of the past, this might be for you.
My boyfriend and I were talking about Game Boy accessories we had one night. I texted him after playing one of my games, saying I forgot how tiny the screen was, and the fact that it didn’t have any kind of background lighting.
Which absolutely sucks when you’re laying in bed at night.
I do have an external light source for my screen, but this isn’t it. This light and magnifier is what my boyfriend bought for his Game Boy, and it does exactly what the title suggests. It magnifies the screen, and also creates a lighting on the panel so you can see it better, no matter where you are.
Unless you’re in daylight, in which case I’m not sure why you have this attached to the console, unless for magnifying purposes.
As a human, we thrive on water.
And if you’re not, I don’t want to get into it.
We need to stay hydrated or else our body will complain and bad things happen to good, lazy, water-hating people. I say that last part because I hate water. I have to have it flavored, or it has to be ice cold for me to even want to drink it.
But I’m something special as my parents have always said.
I hope you have some interest in the Game Boy gifts I’ve shown. Personally, if I were to want any, I’d want either one of these (and maybe one or two others not listed here).
Hopefully you feel the same!
