Hello, gamers, and welcome to some chatter regarding what’s in the Humble Bundle June 2019 package.
I joined Humble Bundle Monthly back in September 23, 2017.
As such, I’ve decided it’s about time I talk about some of the games I’ve acquired through the bundles, and here we are.
Everything stated below is my own opinion, and it may vastly differ from yours, or you may even concur with my jargon. In either case, I hope to give some insight on what this bundle offers during this session.

911 Operator
In 911 OPERATOR, you take on the role of an emergency dispatcher, who has to rapidly deal with the incoming reports. Your task is not just to pick up the calls, but also to react appropriately to the situation – sometimes giving first aid instructions is enough, at other times a police, fire department or paramedics’ intervention is a necessity. Keep in mind, that the person on the other side of the line might turn out to be a dying daughter’s father, an unpredictable terrorist, or just a prankster. Can you handle all of this?
This game has been on my Steam wishlist for a bit, but it wasn’t a high priority buy for me. Dealing with emergencies, and even the chance of a prankster or a terrorist sabotaging the call, is almost a thrill, because you sort of have to think ahead. Will they sound like they need help? Or will you be able to tell they’re lying, as the cues they’re giving aren’t strong enough for a real situation?
Guess I won’t know until I play it, huh?
911 Operator – Special Resources DLC
Add additional emergency vehicles and equipment to your teams to resolve new incidents that can happen in your city. All unavailable in the basic version! After installing the DLC, you will be able to get additional content in game:
8 special emergency vehicles:
- Bicycles (very slow and cheap)
- Unmarked police car (has a larger chance to spot road laws violations)
- Sport car (much faster)
- Armored van (gives protection)
- Large Police Helicopter (can take to custody)
- Medical Bike (fastest medical help but no bonuses nor places)
- Large ladder (for tall buildings)
- Mobile hospital (that can be set by firemen)
6 special equipment types:
- Police dog (can be a weapon, can be a bonus)
- Shotgun (large damage, slow reload)
- Taser (safer than guns)
- Defibrillator (used for near fatal injuries)
- Heavy fire suit (additional protection for firemen)
- Bomb defuse robot
This DLC brings to you a bunch of necessities (?) for saving people as well as protecting yourself from harm, if you’re going into a dangerous situation. This makes me wonder if the regular game doesn’t bring in some of the things the DLC does. Such as if you have a scenario where you would like to have one of these items, how would you go about the event of saving someone/yourself.
Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered
Set 50 years after the climactic events of the original Red Faction, Red Faction: Guerrilla allows players to take the role of an insurgent fighter with the newly re-established Red Faction movement as they battle for liberation from the oppressive Earth Defense Force. Red Faction: Guerrilla re-defines the limits of destruction-based game-play with a huge open-world, fast-paced guerrilla-style combat, and true physics-based destruction.
Doesn’t sound too bad for sci-fi fans, right? Unfortunately, not a sci-fi fan and not too much of an open world guru either. I don’t mind playing some, but it gets tedious going all over the place without a set path placed before me.
Duskers
In Duskers you pilot drones into derelict spaceships to find the means to survive and piece together how the universe became a giant graveyard.
So, it’s sci-fi, but it’s an interesting take, I think? It seems sort of like…Distrust? Maybe not. That’s more survival than figuring out what happened, right? In any case, it looks pretty nifty, and that’s saying something from someone who doesn’t like this genre.
Paratopic
You got caught smuggling VHS tapes across the border, and now there’s hell to pay. You want to find an elusive rare bird in the forest and snap its picture. You have to kill a man in the back room of a shady diner.
This is Paratopic, an experimental first-person horror game named by Rock, Paper, Shotgun as one of the best games of 2018, and by FACT mag as having one of the top 10 soundtracks of the year.
OK, I’ve heard of Rock, Paper, Shotgun–even perused their site a time or two–and so I’ll believe them when they label it one of the best games. But don’t expect me to be playing a horror game like it, since it’s one of the best, it might be the best at giving me a heart-attack. (Or maybe not–I’ll never know.)
Pool Panic
Pool Panic is the world’s least realistic pool simulator. Play as a mischievous, and dare we say, oblivious cue ball in a giant game of pool that sprawls across a colorful cartoon overworld with more than 100 levels.
Explore jungles, deserts, carnivals, cities and more while knocking around a peculiar cast of billiard balls, most of which won’t appreciate being pocketed.
My friend was pretty hyped to get this game from the Humble Bundle, but I was a little leery about it. Then again, we don’t exactly have the same game choices in mind in what we consider “fun.”
But it looks like you can do a variety of things in a variety of different places, so I guess it’s just not some sort of weird pool scenario game with a weird ball. I’ve never been the best at pool, even though several of our relatives had pool tables and I’d have some fun not winning…all the time.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Standard Edition & Additional Content
Black Ops is back! Featuring gritty, grounded, fluid Multiplayer combat, the biggest Zombies offering ever and Blackout, where the universe of Black Ops comes to life in one massive battle royale experience. Soldier up for all-out combat – tailor made for the Black Ops community.
I’m just going to throw the standard edition and additional content here all at once.
As stated above, this is one of those games that my friend tends to play more than I do. He likes the shooter games; I prefer the adventure, casual, point-and-clicks. I’m sure I’d get an eye-roll right there from him, too, but that’s OK.
So…this means it’s a game that I’m not fond of, due to the playstyle (plus the whole co-op, multiplayer thing), so don’t expect me to make much of a fuss about it.
