Kyparite is not something that I ever planned to farm up for selling purposes.
I don’t think I ever really knew what Kyparite was even used for, or if it was worth farming.
More specifically…I never farmed the zones that this ore spawns in.
So doing these farming guides is a refresher course for me. It allows me to find things I’ve not found before, and learn things about mats that I’d never knew.
What have I learned about Kyparite? There’s not too much need for it–but it does help Engineers and Blacksmiths craft items. It’s also used as currency to buy Blacksmithing plans.

- Mining skill isn’t high enough? Then you’ll gather Kyparite Fragment.

Pandaria
I’ve never actually farmed this zone before, but I certainly wasn’t disappointed by the amount of rare ore I gathered, along with the amount of Kyparite. The only irritating aspect of the zone are the mobs flying around. You might aggro them, and they can be a nuisance when trying to mount up after gathering ore.
- Kyparite – 83
I’m not fond of this route, but it can be an alternative for farming Kyparite if for some reason you’re not getting the numbers you’d like in Townlong. There’s just a lot going on in this zone–this route–and it distracts from the actual farming of the ore. Especially when you’re having to dodge flying enemies.

Keep in mind that even though there are a lot of gems to be had from this type of ore (and other MoP expansion ores), you can farm them in abundance. The world is not short on ore resources.
