Breaking Out is Hard to Do How-To
The key to this cage is stored in a pouch over at the worg den, just north of our location. The problem is that the pouch is resting safely atop a tree stump amidst a sea of bloodthirsty man-killing worgs.
You’ve got one shot to get that key without waking up any of those sleeping worgs. Head to the worg den and find a way into the center. Tread carefully and watch out for the Blackrock worg captain. Get the key and return to me.
If you got a pet, I’d recommend telling it to stay back!

- Starts: Messner (47,41)
- Ends: Messner (47,41)
So Messner’s cage needs unlocked after all, and you need to help him get out. This is a quest where a lot of players die. You’re almost guaranteed to find corpses or skeletons around this place, and it’s honestly not that hard to get the keys. Just…don’t wake the worgs.
Walk through the center area of sleeping worgs, but stay mindful of the patrol and wait for him to walk the opposite way.
You don’t actually need to have your character walk, though. (I don’t even know the keybind myself.)
Just stay in the center and don’t go too far to the left or right. The key is on the log in the center. Grab it and get out. Once you’ve gotten the key, unlock Messner’s cage.
